Electrical Design and Circuit Development

Control technology is the nervous system of every custom machine. Our electrical design works hand in hand with mechanical design — cable routing, component placement and drive control are coordinated from the very beginning. Before the first wire is terminated, a complete circuit diagram including terminal plan, assembly drawing and cable list is available.

We dimension motor outputs, safety contactors, frequency inverters, servo drives and bus topologies according to EN 60204-1. For safety-related functions (emergency stop, safety door, light curtain), we work according to EN ISO 13849-1 with Performance Level proof — including risk assessment for your machine.

Control Technology in Detail

PLC, switchgear, EMC and documentation — under one roof

PLC

Programming — Omron Focus

We program all common PLC systems. The focus of our projects is Omron — proven in cycle machines, test stations and assembly cells. In addition, we cover Siemens (S7, TIA Portal), Beckhoff (TwinCAT), Rockwell and other systems — depending on your specification or your existing plant landscape. HMI panel visualization, remote access via VPN and OPC-UA integration with your supervisory control are part of the standard package.

Switchgear — Standard Rittal

Our standard is Rittal cabinets — from compact enclosures to cabinet rows for larger plants. At customer request we also process other manufacturers. Wiring according to EN 61439-1 takes place in our own electrical workshop: terminal blocks, load disconnectors, frequency inverters, safety relays, fieldbus couplers. All cabinets are function-tested and labeled before shipping.

EMC

In-house EMC Testing

We have our own EMC measurement equipment. Before delivery, we test your machine for emission and immunity according to EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. This avoids unpleasant surprises at customer acceptance and shortens the path to CE conformity. If limit violations are detected, we resolve the causes directly at the switchgear — no external lab, no waiting time.

CE Documentation per Machinery Directive

CE documentation per Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is delivered as part of project acceptance: risk assessment, circuit diagrams, operating instructions, declaration of conformity. For machines with elevated requirements, we also prepare technical documentation for certification bodies. Mechanical integration is handled by sondermaschinen-hersteller.com.

Custom Machines and Automation

Assembly cells, test stations, cycle machines, handling systems. We provide complete control for custom machines from our own custom machine building as well as for machines from other manufacturers where we handle only the electrical side.

Drive Technology and Conveyor Systems

Servo drives, frequency inverter applications, conveyor controls, linear technology. We know the pitfalls of modern drive technology and precisely match control and mechanics — including position control, synchronous operation and load distribution.

Process and Plant Engineering

Switchgear for pressure vessel construction, heating systems, dosing and mixing plants. Temperature control, pressure and level monitoring, pump control — with complete documentation for Ex zones or food production.

Retrofit and Modernization

Upgrading legacy plants with modern control systems: we replace obsolete systems with current PLC platforms, retain the mechanics and improve availability, cycle time and energy efficiency. Mechanical upgrades are coordinated with our sister domain sondermaschinen-hersteller.com.

Requirements Analysis and Specification

Which functions must the control cover? Which interfaces to your supervisory control exist? Which safety functions are mandatory? In a workshop (on-site or remote), we clarify the requirements and document them in a specification. The outcome is a rough concept with cost framework.

Design, Manufacturing, Programming

Parallel to the electrical design, we order components, assemble the switchgear and develop the PLC program. Visualization, HMI screens and operating concept are iterated with you. Before completion, the factory acceptance test including EMC measurement is performed.

Commissioning and Service

We deliver the switchgear to you, connect it, commission it and train your personnel. CE documentation is handed over at acceptance. On request, we provide remote support via VPN as well as service and maintenance contracts.
